Hey, the show this weekend was really fun. Playing to a packed basement is the way things oughta be. Everything sounded great and I didnt get lost, and I didnt insult anyone....in my band?

Spent a couple hours at each day of Intonation. Not sure why. I just wanted to see what all the hubbub was about. I guess people were having a good time, but I was not. I just cant excited about whatever hyped indie band is currently in fashion. The headliners last night were The Decembrists, Les Savy Fav, and The Wrens. I havent even heard the latter or the former, and Les Savy Fav have been doing the same shit for like 10 years now. I was amped to see Deerhoof, but the sound was so quiet for them that I wandered off halfway through the set. At the TJ table, a kid asked me if Tortoise was "alternative". What.

It was nice to see the Navies, even if they are at eachother's throats. Those guys need to do a non-tour related Chicago visit soon.

The party on Saturday night had a weird vibe. I was, of course, soaked in a day's worth of beer on the inside and the outside, heavily weeded, and exhausted from a day of walking all over Chicago like a punk israelite, so maybe I wasn't in the best mood to be social. People seemed to be giving eachother a hard time left and right. There's no accounting for social friction, I guess.
